Tammy Wong Hulbert and Marnie Badham are artist-researchers who together examine everyday attachments to public space through socially-engaged artworks. Pedestrian Poetics for Public Space draws on Fluxus methods of creative intervention.
At Mt Corhanwarrabul/Burkes Lookout Reserve, viewers are invited to use their senses, emotions, imaginations and bodies to interpret the social and cultural histories of the site. At a time of heightened social anxieties, the work encourages viewers to experience the natural world beyond themselves in new ways by interacting with some or all of the six temporary whimsical ‘traffic signs’.
